We’ll talk about some really practical strategies for getting your working career off to a great start, whether you’re a junior, senior, or have recently graduated. There are lots of things you can do right now to begin your networking, step by step, to build toward the first job that you really want. Here’s what we’ll cover (and take all your questions as well):
- How to talk about your job search in such a way that people will want to help you.
- The nuts and bolts of networking, and finding mentors for your search.
- Using social media to your highest advantage.
- The magic leverage of an internship, even after graduation.
- Making yourself the “most hire-able” candidate.
About the Speaker
Landa Williams spent 15 years in the advertising, media, and graphic arts business prior to founding LandaJob in the 1980s. In her advertising career, she worked in account management for a recruitment ad agency based in Chicago, and also in national account sales for a trade publishing company.
As President of LandaJob, Landa has recruited and placed hundreds of professionals at all levels in corporate marketing and communications departments, advertising and public relations agencies, and design firms. LandaJob also has supplied the market with temporary and contract staff to meet the growing demand for on-demand talent at all levels.
Landa currently serves on the board of directors for AAF-KC (the advertising club) and is past president of the AAF-KC Foundation, which has provided hundreds of student scholarships in advertising and marketing communications.
